Winner of the Opera Awards 2016 (Best Young Conductor), Giacomo Sagripanti, Music Director of the State Opera in Tbilisi (Georgia), is regarded as one of the most exciting conductors of his generation on the international scene.

He began his career in Italy and Germany, making his debuts at the Festival della Valle d’Itria, the Associazione Lirica e Concertistica Italiana, and at Theater Lübeck. He was soon invited to conduct on stages throughout Europe and has since appeared, among others, at the Semperoper Dresden, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Zurich Opera House, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Opéra de Paris, the Opéra Bastille, the Philharmonia in St Petersburg, Teatro de La Maestranza in Seville, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Bavarian State Opera and Hamburg State Opera, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in London, the Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, as well as at several of the world’s most important festivals, including the Rossini Opera Festival, the Arena di Verona, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, and the Chorégies d’Orange.

His 2025/26 season includes La Fille du régiment at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La traviata at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Norma at the Bavarian State Opera, Macbeth in Frankfurt, and Il trovatore in Monte Carlo. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2021 with La traviata.
