SVETLINA STOYANOVA has joined the ensemble of Vienna State Opera this season. She was born in Bulgaria in 1991 and studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. There she completed her Master of Music in 2016. The young mezzo-soprano recently appeared as Nerone in Agrippina, Mother in Mavra and Veronique in Il Docteur Miracle. Her repertoire includes roles such as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, the title role in The Rape of Lucrezia, Frau Reich in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor, and Juno in Semele. She is a member of Live Music Now, an organisation founded by Yehudi Menuhin, and often performs as a soloist at Live Music Now charity concerts. On the concert stage, she also regularly performs works by Vivaldi, Haydn and Mozart. The young singer has successfully participated in a number of music competitions. In 2017 she won the first prize at the Neue Stimmen competition in Gütersloh. In 2018/2019 she holds a Novomatic scholarship.
