Eno Peci

Eno Peci was born in Tirana (Albania). He was educated at the Ballet Academy in his hometown and at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera. In 2000 he joined the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera. In 2003 he was appointed demi-soloist and in 2009 soloist of the Ballett der Vienna State Opera und Volksoper.

Delcroix’ »Silence sans reproche«, Natalia Horecna’s »Contra Clockwise Witness«, Antony McDonald’s & Ashley Page’s »Ein Reigen« and in Daniel Proietto's »Blanc«. Guest performances have taken him to many European countries and overseas. 

In 2009 Eno Peci started his career as a choreographer. He made his debut with »Cut« at »choreo.lab 09« of the Ballettclub Wiener Staatsoper & Volksoper. This was followed by »Exitium« (2012) and »Pavillon 12/2« (2014) for »Young Choreographers« of the Ballettclub. For the Vienna State Ballet he created »Herzblume« (2013) and »Petruschka« (2017) at the Volksoper Vienna. In 2018 and 2020 he did the choreographies for the opening ceremony of the Vienna Opera Ball for the Vienna State Ballet and the Ballet Academy of the Wiener Staatsoper.

Further works Eno Peci created for the »Origen Festival Cultural« in Riom (Switzerland) such as »Ereignis aus Karls Leben (2014), »Exil« (2015), »Jenseits« (2016), »Homo Sapiens« and »Tre Fratelli« (both 2017), »Der letzte Ball” and »Café chinois« (both 2018) and »Zeitraum« (2019) with members of the Vienna State Ballet and the Ballet Academy of the Wiener Staatsoper. For the »Gala des Etoiles« in Luxembourg he created »Modus« (2015) and »Opus 25« (2017), for the »Red Ribbon Celebration Concert« in the Burgtheater, Vienna, »Orpheus and Eurydike« (2016). In March 2017 his piece »Déjà-vu« had its premiere at the Stanislavsky Theatre in Moscow, in summer 2017 »Apocalypse« followed for the opening of the Juliertheater in Julierpass (Switzerland). On 26 May 2018, Eno Pecis Pas de deux »Subject (L)« had its premiere at the »Gala des Étoiles« in the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg which he was dancing with Maria Yakovleva. For »The Future Ball 2018«, which was organised for the first time in the SO/Vienna Lifestyle-Hotel, Peci created a solo for himself. For the »Weltstar-Gala« in 2018 in the Volkstheater, Vienna, he created the Pas de deux »Hush« with Olga Esina. In 2019 »Swan Lake« for the Ballett Chemnitz had its premiere, Eno Peci was responsible for choreography and staging (1st and 3rd act; 2nd and 4th act after Lew Iwanow). In the same year he created the Pas de deux »RAIN« for the 6th Chemnitzer Ballett Benefiz Gala. At the same place, in 2021 his version of »Daphnis et Chloé« (Music: Maurice Ravel) had its premiere. For the Gala D’Etoiles Internationales »Viva Maïa« in Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes on 29 June 2019, Peci created the Duo »Fragment« (Music: John Perkins), which he was dancing together with Ketevan Papava. Also in 2019, Peci created together with the pianist Maria Radutu the evening »Piano & Dance« in MuTh, Vienna. Some of his pieces were danced by the National Ballet of Kosovo in Prishtina and the Choreo Center Europe & Europaballett. In 2020 his creation »ZWEISAMKEIT« for the Györi Ballet in Györ had its premiere and in 2021 »Angel« (Music: Violinkonzert by Alban Berg) at the Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.

In 2008 Eno Peci was appointed to an honourable ambassador of the Republic of Albania, in 2017 he received with »The Key of Tirana« another important honour of his home country. In 2018 he was honoured by the president of Albania with the title »Knight of the Order of Skanderbeg«. On 13 December 2019 he received the »Österreichisches Ehrenkreuz für Wissenschaft und Kunst«.
