The Viennese Mila Schmidt graduated from the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera in 2009. She completed her studies at the NDT Summer Intensive and in Workshops of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival with Jose Agudo (Akram Khan Repertory) and Ismael Ivo (Modern Flow). From 2002 to 2007 she has been also tutored in classical music, playing Violoncello. Since 2010 she has been a member of the Vienna State Ballet, performing mainly in the Volksoper Vienna in ballets, operettas and musicals. Her repertoire comprises main parts in Boris Nebyla’s »L'Après-midi d'un faune«, Vesna Orlić’s »Carmina Burana«, Wendy in Orlić’s »Peter Pan« and the title role in Thierry Malandain’s »Cendrillon«, therefor she was awarded with the Promotion Prize of the Ballettclub Wiener Staatsoper & Volksoper in 2017. Moreover she was dancing in many works by Andrey Kaydanovskiy such as »Love Song« and »Dolce Vita« in the Odeon Theater in Vienna and in »Das häßliche Entlein« and »Zeitverschwendung« in the Volksoper Vienna. Furthermore she was acting and dancing the role of Louise Bigelow in Rodgers & Hammersteinʼs Musical »Carousel« and Maggie in Frederick Loeweʼs musical »Brigadoon« in the Volksoper Vienna and Ida in Johann Strauß’ operetta »Die Fledermaus« at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland.
