Iréne Theorin

IRÉNE THEORIN was born in Sweden. Vocal Studies in Göteborg and Copenhagen. She made her debut performance in 2001 as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) in Copenhagen. Engagements have taken the singer to major opera houses and festivals worldwide, namely, La Scala, Milan, New York Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Berlin State Opera, Salzburg Festival, to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Paris Opera, Semper Opera House in Dresden and Bayreuth. Current engagements include Brünnhilde (Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, Wagner-Festival in Budapest, New National Theatre Tokyo, Berlin, Barcelona, Washington), Isolde (Bayreuther Festspiele, Berlin, Copenhagen, Tokyo), Elektra (Salzburger Festspiele, Munich, Paris), Turandot (Covent Garden, San Francisco, Dresden, Metropolitan Opera, Verona, Munich), Santuzza (Copenhagen). Iréne Theorin gave her debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 2011 as Venus and has since sung the role of Isolde.
