The tenor BERNARD RICHTER was born in Neuchâtel (Switzerland), studied in Neuchâtel and was a member of the Opera Studio in Biel. His repertoire includes Lully’s Atys, Tamino, Belmonte, Don Ottavio, Ferrando, Lucio Silla, Idomeneo, Jaquino, Froh, Erik, and Pelléas. He is a regular guest at opera houses such as Opéra Bastille, Bavarian State Opera, Zurich Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Salzburg Festival, Verbier Festival, and Theater an der Wien. In concerts he has performed with the Gewandhausorchester, the Berlin Symphoniker, at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, the Zurich Tonhalle, the Styriarte Festival in Graz, and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. Most recent and future projects include Don Ottavio at Zurich Opera, Des Grieux (Manon) and Ariel/Pater Ecstaticus (Schumanns Faust-Szenen) at Grand Théâtre de Genève, the title role in La clemenza di Tito at Teatro Real Madrid as well as the title role in Fierrabras, Belfiore (La Finta Giardiniera) and the title role Idomeneo at Teatro alla Scala.
