Elīna Garanča

Latvian-born Elīna Garanča is one of the foremost mezzo sopranos of our times and has performed on leading stages worldwide (e.g. the New York Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala Milan). She had her breakthrough at Salzburg Festival in 2003 as Annio in La clemenza di Tito. During her time as a member of Vienna State Opera’s ensemble, she also sang in Paris, Lucerne, Aix-en-Provence, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, ROH Covent Garden, the Met and in Baden-Baden. As a multi-award-winning performer, “Singer of the Year“ and exclusive artist with Deutsche Grammophon, Elīna also has many recordings to her name. Most recently, she has sung Octavian at the Metropolitan Opera, Lénore (La Favorite) in Munich, Charlotte, Carmen and Santuzza in Paris and many other roles, as well as concerts. She made her Vienna State Opera debut in 2003 and has since appeared there as Octavian, Cherubino, Dorabella, Sesto, Giovanna Seymour, Rosina, Adalgisa, Nicklausse, Charlotte, Carmen, Meg Page, Bersi, Orlofsky, Dalila and others.
