LAURA AIKIN began her career at the Berlin State Opera and soon went on to perform at the leading opera houses of Europe and the USA. She made her debut performance at the Salzburg Festival in 1995, and appeared on stage here as Queen of the Night, Blondchen, Konstanze, Badi’at in the premiere of Henze’s L’Upupa, Marie in Zimmerman’s The Soldiers and Birtwistle’s Gawain. Her earliest highlights included Marguerite (Les Huguenots) in Strasbourg, Aithra at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Lulu in Paris, Lyon and Milan, Marilyn Monroe in the premiere of Waiting for Miss Monroe at the Dutch National Opera, Feldman’s Neither at the Ruhrtriennale Festival, Zimmerman’s The Soldiers at La Scala, Donna Anna at the German State Opera and Konstanze in Hamburg. During 2017/2018 she appeared as Donna Anna in Budapest, at the Edinburgh Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival in New York as well as in a premiere performance of Salvatore Sicarrino at La Scala, Milan and the Berlin State Opera. She made her debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 1995 as Olympia and has since sung Zerbinetta, Sophie (Rosenkavalier), Arminta, Queen of the Night, Adele and Emilia Marty.
