CLEMENS UNTERREINER was born in Vienna. In 1998 he began his vocal art studies with Hilde Rössel-Majdan, Gottfried Hornik, Helena Lazarska and Wicus Slabbert. He has performed numerous national and international opera and operetta productions as well as lied evenings, oratories and church concerts among others at the Großen Saal in the Wiener Musikverein, in the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Palau de la Musica and other international concert stages. Since 2005, he is a member of the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper where he has sung among Peter Besenbinder, Verschinin (Tri Sestri), Dr. Falke, Sharpless, Faninal, Donner, Harlekin, Melot, Brétigny, Dominik, Schtschelkalow, Oberpriester des Apollon (Alceste), Happy (Fanciulla del West), Musiklehrer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Schaunard. Also in the Volksoper, he celebrated success as Papageno or Sharpless. Further engagements have led him to Carnegie Hall, to the Royal Opera House Copenhagen, to the Opera Straßburg, the Salzburg Festival, to the Opéra de Nice, the Linz Landestheater, to the Summer Festival Heidenheim, to Tokyo, Baden-Baden as well as the Richard Wagner Festival Budapest.
