LUDOVIC TÉZIER was born in Marseille. He studied in Paris and was the winner of the Operalia Competition in 1998. His roles include Posa in Don Carlo, Albert und Werther in Werther, Jeletzki in Pique Dame, Hamlet, Renato in Un ballo in maschera, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Wolfram in Tannhäuser, Eugen Onegin, Conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Lescaut in Manon, Escamillo in Carmen, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Amonasro in Aida, Luna in Trovatore. Engagements have led him to stages like the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Paris Opera, the Milan Scala, the Bayerische Staatsoper,
the Gran Teatre del Liceu, to Toulouse, Marseille, Monte Carlo, Aix-en-Procence, Bilbao, Turin, the Salzburg Festival and to Baden-Baden. Current performances include Don Carlo (La forza del destino) in Munich, Rigoletto in Toulouse, Enrico in London, Macbeth in Barcelona and Simon Boccanegra in Monte Carlo.
He made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2005 as Conte d’Almaviva and has also sung Wolfram, Albert, Werther (in the baritone version), Posa (Don Carlos in the French and Italian version), Escamillo (Carmen).
