Anja Harteros

The german-greek soprano ANJA HARTEROS gave her debut already at 27 years of age at the Wiener and Bayerische Staatsoper. Her steep career lead her in a short amount of time to the leading music cities of the world, among others to the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Milan Scala, the ROH Covent Garden, the Staatsoper in Berlin, Hamburg and Dresden, to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Paris Opera, to Amsterdam, Zurich and Tokyo, in the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus, the Maggio Musicale and the Salzburg Festival. She was a prizewinner of the competition Cardiff Singer of the World, and in 2007 she was named as the (still) youngest Bayerische Kammersängerin. Her repertoire includes works by Mozart (Fiordiligi, Contessa, Donna Anna, Elettra), Verdi (Violetta, Elisabetta, Amelia, Desdemona, Alice Ford, Leonora in Il trovatore and Forza del destino), Wagner (Elisabeth, Elsa, Eva), Strauss (Arabella, Marschallin, Ariadne), Puccini (Mimì and Tosca). At the Wiener Staatosper she gave her debut in 1999 as Mimì and has also sung among others, Micaëla, Donna Anna, Contessa d’Almaviva, Eva, Marschallin, Arabella, Desdemona, Elisabetta, Alcina as well as a solo concert here.
