Mihoko Fujimura

MIHOKO FUJIMURA was born in Japan and studied in Tokyo as well as at the University of Music Munich. The winner of several prizes was ensemble member of the Graz Opera between 1995 and 2000. Her international career, which should begin soon afterwards, has led her to the most important international stages – for example to the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Bayreuther Festspiele, the ROH Covent Garden, La Scala in Milan, to Aix-en-Provence, to the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, to Florence, Paris and Japan. Amongst other roles, she was very successful with the Wagner roles Kundry, Brangäne, Venus, Fricka as well as Idamante, Octavian, Carmen, Eboli, Azucena and Amneris. As a concert singer she for example performed the Verdi-Requiem, the Wesendock-Liedern, Schönberg´s Gurrelieder, Beethoven´s 9th Symphony, Mahler´s Lied von der Erde, the Rückert Lieder, Des Knaben Wunderhorn as well as in the 2nd, 3rd and 8th Mahler Symphony. She made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper as Brangäne in 2000 and has since then also sang Azucena, Fricka (Das Rheingold, Die Walküre), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung), Kundry and Erda (Siegfried).
