
Larisa Lezhnina
Larisa Lezhnina was born in Russia and trained at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. From 1987 to 1994 she performed as a First Soloist with the Mariinsky Ballet numerous prominent solo roles. She then danced with Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam in the same position until 2014. After her active career as a dancer, she studied ballet pedagogy at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. Since 2013 Larisa Lezhnina has worked as a guest teacher, ballet master and choreographic assistant with companies such as Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam, Ballet of the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, San Francisco Ballet, Tokyo Ballet, English National Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet and Norwegian National Ballet. She has received several awards including the Dansersfonds ‘79 in 2010 and the Gouden Swan of the Dutch Dance Festival in 2014.
