Schaghajegh Nosrati
Schaghajegh Nosrati was born in Bochum in 1989. She has become known as an extremely versatile musician. That she could establish herself as a concert pianist in early years is due to her excellent reputation as an interpreter of Bach‘s music. Her international breakthrough came in 2014 as an award winner at the International Bach Competition Leipzig and particularly through her increasing musical collaboration with Sir András Schiff.
Schaghajegh Nosrati was admitted to the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media as a young student, completed her master’s degree under Christopher Oakden in 2015 and her artist diploma under Ewa Kupiec in 2017. Robert Levin, Murray Perahia and Daniel Barenboim gave her further artistic inspiration.
She performed at international music festivals such as the Schumannfest Düsseldorf, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad and the Luzern Festival. Further performances followed at the Philharmonie Berlin, Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin, Alte Oper Frankfurt, the NDR Kleine Sendesaal Hannover, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Anneliese Brost Musikforum Bochum, the Beethovenhaus Bonn, Tonhalle Zurich and 92nd Street Y New York with the Central German Chamber Orchestra, the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin and the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, among others.
In 2017, she had her first concert tour in China including debut performances in Shanghai and Beijing. Furthermore she was invited to play a concert tour with Sir András Schiff and Capella Andrea Barca in 2018 with performances at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Philharmonie du Luxembourg, Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels, Musikverein Vienna, Mozarteum Salzburg, Philharmonic Concert Hall Bratislava, KKL Lucerne and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Solo recitals followed at the Palau de la Música Barcelona, New York's Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center Washington, among others.
The German label Genuin Classics has released two highly acclaimed CD’s with Schaghajegh Nosrati with J.S. Bach’s »The Art of Fugue« and Bach’s piano concertos BWV 1052–1054 played with Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin. In 2019 CAvi Music has released the pianist’s recent CD with works by Charles Valentin Alkan.
She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2022, performing piano pieces by Franz Liszt in Hans van Manen's ballet »Live«. In the 2022/23 season she will make her debut there in the ballet evening »Liebeslieder« in George Balanchine's »Other Dances« with music by Frédéric Chopin. In February 2023 she will make her debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
