François-Eloi Lavignac

François-Eloi Lavignac was born in Limoges and received his training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris and at the English National Ballet School in London. From 2013 to 2020, he danced with the Australian Ballet and was appointed Coryphée in 2016. He appeared as Stanislaw in John Neumeier’s »Nijinsky«, in Stanton Welch’s »La Bayadère« and Peter Wright’s »The Nutcracker« as well as in William Forsythe’s »In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated« and Jiří Kylián’s »Six Dances«. Since the 2020/21 season he has been a demi-soloist with the Vienna State Ballet. His Viennese repertoire comprises Widow Simone in Frederick Ashton's »La Fille mal gardée«, Catalabutte in Martin Schläpfer's »The Sleeping Beauty«, Sancho Panza in Rudolf Nureyevʼs »Don Quixote«, Coppélius in Pierre Lacotteʼs »Coppélia« as well as parts in Jerome Robbins' »Glass Pieces« and »The Concert«, George Balanchine's »Jewels«, »Symphony in Three Movements« and und »Symphony in C«, John Cranko's »Onegin«, Lucinda Childsʼ »Concerto«, Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »lux umbra«, Merce Cunningham's »Duets«, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's »Große Fuge«, Paul Taylorʼs »Promethean Fire«, Heinz Spoerliʼs »Goldberg-Variationen«, William Forsytheʼs »In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated« and in works by Martin Schläpfer such as »4« und »Sinfonie Nr. 15«. For »Plattform Choreographie« of the Vienna State Ballet in June 2022 he created »train« to the commissioned composition »AC 3-phase Induction« by Edoardo Robert Elliot after Franz Schubert's »Der Tod und das Mädchen«.
