Mark Stanley

Mark Stanley is a resident lighting designer at the New York City Ballet and previously worked for the New York City Opera. In over 200 productions he collaborated with numerous well-known choreographers, including William Forsythe, Susan Marshall, Peter Martins, Kevin O’Day, Justin Peck, Alexei Ratmansky, Susan Stroman or Christopher Wheeldon. His lighting designs can be seen in many major companies in Europe and the United States, such as the Royal Ballet London, Ballet of the Paris Opera, Royal Danish Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam, Bolshoi Ballet Moscow, Ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre, Ballet of the Milan Scala, Stuttgart Ballet, Vienna State Ballet, Miami City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pilobolus Dance Theater, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and the Joffrey Ballet. Mark Stanley is the head of the Lighting Design Program at Boston University.
