Young Italian soprano FEDERICA LOMBARDI studied in Forlì and at the Conservatory of Music in Cesena, her hometown. She was a member of Teatro alla Scala’s Accademia di Perfezionamento per Cantanti Lirici in Milan and she participated in the prestigious young singers programme at Salzburg Festival. In 2019, she made her US debut as Donna Elvira at the New York Met. She has sung the same role at Maifestspiele Wiesbaden and will be taking it to Hamburgische Staatsoper, too. At Teatro alla Scala, she has portrayed Elettra (Idomeneo) and at Bayerische Staatsoper, Contessa. In 2020, she will be singing Desdemona at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Fiora (another new role for her) in Teatro alla Scala’s new production of L’amore dei tre rè. The year after, she is scheduled to make her debut at two other major opera houses: at Chicago Lyric Opera, as Contessa, and at Teatro Real in Madrid, as Donna Elvira. Recently, she has debuted at Bayerische Staatsoper, in Turin and in Rome as Fiordiligi. At Cologne Opera and in Bologna, she has appeared as Donna Anna, and she played Micaëla in Bangkok while touring with Teatro San Carlo. In 2017, she first sang Anna Bolena at Teatro alla Scala, and she returned to the same stage as Musetta.
