Giovanni Cusin was born in Abano Terme (Padova, Italy). He was educated at the Scuola di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala directed by Frederic Olivieri, where he studied mainly under Leonid Nikonov, Maurizio Vanadia and Emanuela Tagliavia. He graduated in 2016, in the same year he performed »The Nutcracker« by Nacho Duato and »Swan Lake« by Alexei Ratmansky at Teatro alla Scala under the direction of Mauro Bigonzetti. After graduation, he joined NRW Juniorballett Dortmund in Germany under the direction of Xin Peng Wang. In 2018 he became a member of the Vienna State Ballet. His repertoire comprises fiancé in Pierre Lacotte’s »Coppélia«, Baumgeist and Satyr in Manuel Legris’ »Sylvia«, Korsar in Legris’ »Le Corsaire«, William Forsythe’s »Artifact Suite«, George Balanchine’s »Jewels« (Diamonds), Edward Clug’s »Peer Gynt«, John Neumeier’s »Le Sacre«, Rudolf Nureyev’s »Swan Lake« and »The Nutcracker«, John Cranko’s »Onegin« and Jiří Kylián’s »Symphony of Psalms«.
