Andrés Garcia Torres

The Spanish Andrés Garcia Torres was born in Salamanca and started his education at the age of eight at the Royal Conservatory of Dance Mariemma in Madrid. At 15 he moved to Vienna to continue his studies at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera. After his graduation he became a member of the Vienna State Ballet in 2014. His most important roles has been mainly in productions performed in the Volksoper Vienna such as the Faun in »Nachmittag eines Fauns« by Boris Nebyla, the title role in Thierry Malandain’s »Don Juan«, the Prince in Malandain’s »Cendrillon« and Romeo in Davide Bombana’s »Roméo et Juliette«. In the Vienna State Opera he was dancing the Chinese Dance in Rudolf Nureyev’s »The Nutcracker«, Wayne McGregor’s EDEN|EDEN and works by George Balanchine, Edward Clug, John Cranko, William Forsythe, Manuel Legris, John Neumeier and Elena Tchernichova. For »Young Choreographers 2017« of the Ballettclub Wiener Staatsoper & Volksoper he created his first choreography »An die ferne Geliebte« (music: Ludwig van Beethoven).
