Adam Plachetka

ADAM PLACHETKA received his training at the conservatory in his home town of Prague. He made his debut at the Prague National Theater in 2005. Since then, he has appeared there as Don Giovanni, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro, Il barbiere di Siviglia), Nardo (La finta giradiniera), Argante (Rinaldo), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Přemysl (Libuše) and Vladislav (Dalibor), among others. He is a regular guest at the Metropolitan Opera in New York (Don Giovanni, L'elisir d'amore, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte), at the Vienna State Opera (La bohéme, Alcina, L'elisir d'amore, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Il barbiere di Siviglia, L'Italiana in Algeri, La cenerentola, Don Pasquale, I puritani) and at the Salzburg Festival (Benvenuto Cellini, Rusalka, Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte).

Further engagements have taken him to the ROH Covent Garden in London, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Glyndebourne, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Deutsche Oper and Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, La Scala in Milan, the Lyric Opera in Chicago, the Opera de Paris and the Houston Grand Opera. He is also in demand worldwide as a concert singer
