Jason Fowler

Jason Fowler started his ballet training at the Dallas Ballet Center and Dallas Ballet Academy. In 1993, he entered the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet (NYCB). He was invited to join the company in April 1996 and was promoted to soloist in 2006. In addition to his vast corps de ballet repertoire with NYCB, he has performed soloist and principal roles in Mauro Bigonzettiʼs Vespro, In Vento and Oltremare, George Balanchineʼs Divertimento No. 15, Scotch Symphony, Agon, Symphony in C, The Four Temperaments, La Valse and Chaconne as well as in Christopher Wheeldonʼs Polyphonia, Mercurial Manoeuvres and After the Rain, among many of the British choreographer’s other works. In 2010, Jason Fowler worked as ballet master for Morphoses, The Wheeldon Company and started to stage works for Wheeldon internationally with companies such as at the Royal Ballet London, New York City Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Ballet Arizona, Australian Ballet, Royal Swedish and Royal Danish Ballet, Rome Opera Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, State Ballet Karlsruhe, National Ballet of Japan, Joffrey Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Bavarian State Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, English National Ballet and the Ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre. Jason Fowler will be a guest at the Vienna State Ballet for the first time in the 2024/25 season for the staging of Christopher Wheeldonʼs The Winterʼs Tale.
