THE VIENNA STATE OPERA OPENS AGAIN WITH »LA BOHÈME«

Tickets »La bohème«

After the temporary Corona-related closure, regular performances at the Vienna State Opera will resume as planned on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

The program includes Puccini's masterpiece »La bohème« with a top-class cast: the musical direction will be taken over by Eun Sun Kim, one of the most internationally impressive young conductors, who recently celebrated a veritable triumph at New York's Metropolitan Opera and is now finally making her debut at the Haus am Ring.

On stage, a new generation of singers gives Franco Zeffirelli's classical, pictorially rich production fresh impetus: Nicole Car as Mimì, Étienne Dupuis as Marcello, Martin Häßler as Schaunard and Slávka Zámečníková as Musetta can be experienced for the first time at the Vienna State Opera. On 6 January, the internationally acclaimed tenor Saimir Pirgu will take over the role of Rodolfo in place of the ill Benjamin Bernheim. He is closely associated with the Vienna State Opera and last performed the role here in 2019.  On January 12 and 16, Clemens Unterreiner will sing Marcello and Vera-Lotte Boecker will sing Musetta (role debut at the house). The Colline is sung by Ryan Speedo Green and Evgeny Solodovnikov (January 12 and 16), the Benoît and Alcindoro by Marcus Pelz.
