Matinee to »Don Giovanni«
With the premiere of Don Giovanni on December 5, the Vienna State Opera opens a new Mozart/Da Ponte cycle. At the introductory matinee for the new production, participants in the premiere spoke about the work and their approaches to the material and the roles. Musical contributions - by Mozart, Ravel and Duparc - rounded off the matinee. Guests at the matinee, moderated by State Opera Director Bogdan Roščić, were Music Director Philippe Jordan, Director Barrie Kosky, as well as Kate Lindsey, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, Kyle Ketelsen, Philippe Sly, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Patricia Nolz and Peter Kellner.
The premiere on December 5 can be experienced live worldwide from 6 p.m. on play.wiener-staatsoper.at and accessed for 24 hours, as well as live on Radio Ö1. ORF III will broadcast the premiere from 8:15 p.m. on its main evening program.
