Ein Deutsches Requiem

With his »German Requiem« Johannes Brahms wanted to cross all boundaries between religions and denominations and would have gladly swapped the »German« in the title for »Human«. After we had to cancel the premiere at the Volksoper Wien due to the Corona-related lockdown and unfortunately still don’t know whether we will be able to show the production this season, here is a little insight into the rehearsals with our deputy director Louisa Rachedi and Martin Schläpfer’s thoughts on his piece.
