This Artist Talk of the Ballet Club Wiener Staatsballett with Ballet Director and Chief Choreographer Martin Schläpfer, initially scheduled in front of a live audience, had to be recorded due to the Covid-19 closure of theaters.
During the one-hour conversation, Ingeborg Tichy-Luger, Ambassador of the Ballet Club, talks with Martin Schläpfer about his way of dealing with the Corona crisis and its challenges in general as well as its impact on the programme of the Wiener Staatsballett and future projects.
About the Ballet Club
Since 22 years the Ballet Club is supporting the Wiener Staatsballett – founded as a private cultural initiative, as of the 2020-21 season brought under the umbrella of the Wiener Staatsballett by the Directors Bogdan Roščić and Martin Schläpfer.
The Ballet Club offers its patrons, sponsors and supporters the opportunity to follow world-class dance close up: by entering into direct dialogue with Martin Schläpfer and his team, as well as providing comprehensive information about the company's activities and giving e.g. the advantage of priority ticket orders. The wide range of events planned exclusively for the Ballet Club includes artist talks, visits to stage rehearsals and ballet classes or to the costume department as well as partnerships with foreign Ballet Friends circles.
