After the long break, we are happy to see a great demand for tickets. However, many seats will be left empty in the auditorium, so that necessary distances can be maintained for your safety. The ticket offer is reduced for all performances. Please secure your seats in time!
In order to open our doors in September, so that you may again experience outstanding opera and ballet performances, we have done everything possible to make your visit a safe one. We kindly ask you to support us in implementing these measures. Further information about our security measures can be found here.
Please note: contrary to the usual 2-month rule, tickets for all performances in October will be sold online, by telephone and at the box offices from August 18, 2020.

→ order your tickets from the date of publication of the program up until 3 weeks before the performance – with the order form (available as download), Send your order by email, fax or post to the Service Centre. Tickets will be allocated in the order of receipt. Orders are processed chronologically by performance date. After processing your order successfully, we will send you a confirmation of your reservation.

With the Culturall-Ticket App you can purchase or order tickets from your smartphone. After selecting your seats, the payment is made by credit card. If you wish, your next visit to the Vienna State Opera can be made with a mobile ticket on your smartphone.

PERSONALIZATION AND CONTACT TRACING
No other seat as the seat printed on your ticket must be occupied. In addition, contact details of each visitor, including telephone number and, if available, e-mail address, must be recorded in our ticket system. Each visitor's name must be printed on the ticket. Public Health administration requires us to collect this information – in the interest of our safety.
CONTROLS ON THE EVENING OF THE PERFORMANCE
To make sure that only visitors known to us are present in the auditorium, we have to be able to compare the name printed on the ticket with an ID. We therefore ask for your understanding if we have to ask you to show us your identity card at the ticket control. If the name does not match the ID or if you cannot show your ID, we are unfortunately not allowed to admit you in the auditorium. This measure also serves solely to protect all visitors.
YOU DID NOT GIVE US THE CONTACT DETAILS OF YOUR COMPANION OR YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE PERFORMANCE AND HAVE TO GIVE YOUR TICKET TO SOMEONE ELSE?

If so, you can submit or correct the contact details of your companion when picking up your tickets.
→ You have already picked up your tickets?
In this case, we ask you to visit our ticket office in advance of the performance, with the original tickets, so that your companion or new visitors can be registered and their names can be printed on the tickets.
→ You bought your tickets online and opted for print@home?
In this case you must register or change your companion yourself.
→ You hold a subscription and have ordered tickets with a special offer?
The same procedures apply to these tickets as described above.
→ You have purchased a cycle for the 2020-21 season?
In order to personalize your tickets, you will not receive a season ticket, but individual tickets for each performance. Our Service Centre will contact you to register your companions.
Changes of contact details cannot be made on the evening of the performance.
If individual tickets are passed on to other persons, the new visitor(s) must belong to the same household or visitor group.
PICK-UP OF YOUR TICKETS
To avoid queues at the box office, we kindly ask you to pick up your tickets at least one day before the performance.
Please note that due to distancing regulations, all tickets of your booking must be exchanged - not individual single tickets from your group.
Under current conditions, the Standing Room of the Vienna State Opera cannot be offered in its usual form. On the ground floor, balcony and gallery areas, a total of 183 numbered chairs were installed, these seats will be sold at the orginial prices.

For all performances other than premières, 31 December and Wagner’s Ring cycle performances, no fewer than 25 and up to 100 tickets are allocated for children under the age of 14 (photo ID required). These tickets can be purchased for a flat price of € 15 (regardless of the price category selected). When ordering tickets, please state the number of children’s tickets you would like, or purchase children’s tickets directly at the ticket offices. Please note that, without exception, the actual ticket can only be picked up at the evening box office no later than 20 minutes before curtain on the day of the performance, always provided that the child attends the performance.
If tickets are still available for a performance, holders of the BundestheaterCARD only have the option of buying these tickets (max. 4 tickets per CARD and performance) at the flat price of € 49 on the day before the performance from 3 p.m.
These tickets are available from ticket offices (Monday to Friday → 8 a.m - 9 p.m. , Saturday / Sunday / holiday → 9 a.m. - 12 a.m.)
