Opernball
Details
The State Opera is looking forward to being able to set a welcome sign of normalization of our social life with the most magnificent celebration of the Viennese ball season for the 5,000 visitors in the house and for an audience of millions on television after years of pandemic.
At the same time, this Opera Ball is taking place at a time that will pose completely new challenges. Many people in our country will be confronted this winter with previously unknown problems in coping with basic everyday situations. The 65th Vienna Opera Ball therefore also places itself in the service of solidarity. In cooperation with our partner ORF and the initiative Österreich hilft Österreich (Austria helps Austria), which is supported by the leading aid institutions Caritas, Diakonie, Hilfswerk Österreich, Österreichisches Rotes Kreuz, Samariterbund and Volkshilfe, the ball will make possible a major aid campaign for people in need in our country. The ORF, for example, will put its programs around the Opera Ball at the service of fundraising.
But also the ball itself collects donations in a very direct way, for example through surcharges on tickets and the gastronomic turnover, which go entirely to Österreich hilft Österreich.
