The Magic Flute for Children: Two performances, always held the day after the Opera Ball, have introduced generations of young visitors to the world of musical theater. Seven thousand children from all over Austria experience a shortened, approximately one-hour performance of Mozart's opera in the festive ballroom, led by the character of Papageno as the show's master of ceremonies. The atmosphere on this afternoon is unique, as children follow the story of Tamino and Pamina with curiosity and fascination, perhaps unlike any other performance at the State Opera. Enchanted animals are admired by the thousands, Mozart's music is listened to, and the house is filled with children's laughter and spontaneous applause. You witness how the »Wonder Theater« unfolds its magical power and captivates the young audience. Members of the Vienna State Opera ensemble sing and play, accompanied by the Vienna Philharmonic, who introduce their instruments as part of this children's opera.

The Vienna State Opera thanks the Ministry of Education, Science, and Research for their support.
