Christophe Dumaux

The French countertenor CHRISTOPHE DUMAUX studied with James Bowman and Noëlle Barker at the Paris Conservatoire. He gave his debut performance at the age of 22, singing the part of Eustazio in Handel’s Rinaldo at the Festival de Radio France. Since then, Christophe Dumaux has received invitations from major opera houses and festivals, namely the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Paris Opera, Salzburg Festival, Glyndebourne, BBC Proms, Berlin State Opera, Chicago, Vienna and Madrid, as well as others. Engagements include the title role in Giulio Cesare in Versailles; Ottone (L’incoronazione di Poppea) in Glyndebourne, Vienna, Paris, Geneva, Madrid; Tamerlano at La Monnaie in Brussels and at the Spoleto Festival; Fernando in Don Chisciotte in Sierra Morena in Amsterdam, Polinesso in Ariodante in Lausanne and Stuttgart, Farnace in Mitridate at the Drottningholm Festival and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. Current engagements include Ariodante in Salzburg, his debut with Los Angeles Philharmonic and a return to Glyndebourne.
