Italian soprano singer CARMEN GIANNATTASIO´s career began with him winning the first prize and the audience prize at Domingo´s Operalia competition in 2002. Important performances that followed were Violetta (La traviata) at the Scottish Opera in the year 2007, Mimì (La Bohème) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in the year 2012, Leonora (Il trovatore) at the New York Metropolitan Opera, also in 2012, Violetta in Genua, Alice Ford (Falstaff) at La Scala in Milan in the year 2013, Violetta in Hong Kong, Leonora at the Wiener Festwochen, Desdemona (Otello) at Teatro Colón, Alice in Los Angeles, Liù in Turin and at the Arena di Verona, Mimì and Leonora at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Amelia (Simon Boccanegra) at La Scala in Milan. She recently sang Mimì at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Liù in Naples, Norma in Beijing, Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda) at the Paris Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Leonora in Amsterdam, Nedda at the ROH Covent Garden and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Amelia at La Scala in Milan and at the Moscow Bolschoi Theater, Liù in Verona. In 2016/2017 she will for example perform Nedda at the Dresdner Semperoper and Violetta at the New York Met.
