Aušrinė Stundytė
Lithuanian soprano AUŠRINE STUNDYTE hails from Vilnius. She studied singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, as well as drama in Leipzig, and she has won several scholarships and awards. Aušrine Stundyte started her career at Oper Leipzig and held a fixed contract at Cologne Opera. Her first guest performances took her to Essen, Lübeck, Lisbon and, as Sieglinde, to Palermo. Recent appearances include, among others, Salome at Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Carlotta (Die Gezeichneten) at Komische Oper Berlin, Heliane in Ghent and Antwerp, Bianca (Eine florentinische Tragödie) in Amsterdam, Catalanis Loreley at St. Gallen Festival, Renata (Der feurige Engel) in Zurich, Munich and Lyon, Venus in Venice and Antwerp, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk in Lyon and Antwerp, Montezuma in Rihm‘s Eroberung von Mexiko in Cologne and Madrid, Leonore in Israel, Florence and at Vienna State Opera, Margherita (Mefistofele) in Munich, Judit (Herzog Blaubarts Burg) at Komische Oper Berlin, Tosca in Seattle and São Paulo, Chrysothemis in Antwerp, La Gioconda in St. Gallen, and Cio-Cio-San in Savonlinna and Seattle.
