US-American soprano BRENDA RAE was born in Appleton, studied at Juilliard School (among others), has won numerous prestigious singing competitions and performed works from a variety of eras even while still studying. As an ensemble member at Oper Frankfurt, Brenda Rae was able to build a wide repertoire encompassing roles such as Violetta, Lucia, Maria Stuarda, Pamina, Amina (La sonnambula), Gilda, Zdenka, Zerbinetta, Fiordiligi, Servilia, Donna Anna, Konstanze, Olympia, Musetta, Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Lora (Die Feen) and Governess (The Turn of the Screw). The soprano has also sung Zerbinetta at Berliner, Bayerische and Hamburgische Staatsoper, Konstanze at Zurich Opera, Lulu at ENO, Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress) in Paris, Ginevra (Ariodante) in Chicago, Semele at Seattle Opera, Armida (Rinaldo) in Glyndebourne, and Norina, Lucia, Cunegonde and Violetta in Sante Fe. Brenda Rae is also in high demand as a concert performer. At Vienna State Opera, she sang the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor in 2012.
