ERMANNO FLORIO has been working in Europe, North America and Asia as a conductor of symphonic music, opera and ballet. He conducted ballet performances at Covent Garden Royal Opera House, Opéra national de Paris, Het Nationale Ballet Amsterdam, Nederlands Dans Theater, Metropolitan Opera House New York and Kennedy Center in Washington and others. Since 1992 he has beenHouston Ballet’s music director, a function he had already held at the National Ballet of Canada, American Ballet Theatre and Het Nationale Ballet. In addition to recording several DVDs, he received the Cannes Classical Music Award in the category concert and ballet recordings in 2004 for Don Quixote with Orchestre de l'Opéra national de Paris. Moreover, he has arranged the music for a number of ballet productions. At Vienna State Opera, Ermanno Florio has conducted Don Quixote, Manon, and the 2012 Nurejew Gala.
