After many years of being considered one of the foremost singers of Baroque music worldwide, VÉRONIQUE GENS has more recently won wide acclaim for her Mozart interpretations. She followed up her triumphal turn as Donna Elvira in Aix-en-Provence with engagements at major opera houses and festivals. In the past few years, she has appeared in Don Giovanni in Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Munich, Paris, London and Vienna, Clemenza di Tito in Dresden, Brussels, Madrid; Così fan tutte in Tokyo and Baden-Baden, Nozze di Figaro in Aix-en-Provence and Paris, and in La finta giardiniera at Salzburg Festival, among others. In addition to this, she has recently performed in Pelléas et Mélisande at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Niobe at Covent Garden in London, Falstaff in Munich, Freischütz at Staatsoper Berlin, Dialogues des Carmelites and The Merry Widow in Paris. Current projects include e.g. Marguerite at Festival Palazzetto Bru Zane à Paris, Hécube and Armide in Paris, and Elle (La Voix humaine) at Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing. At Vienna State Opera, she made her debut in 2012 as Alceste, and she has also sung Donna Elvira, Contessa d’Almaviva and Vitellia there.
