SIMONE SCHNEIDER studied at the College of Music and Drama in Munich. She received her initial vocal training from Dietrich Schneider, her father. Still a student, she became a member of the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera. She subsequently became a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz as a dramatic coloratura soprano. Here, she performed the roles of Queen of the Night, Konstanze, Elettra, Rosalinde, Zerbinetta, Olympia and Italienische Sängerin. Guest performances have taken her to, amongst others, the Teatro Felice in Genoa, Leipzig Opera, Chemnitz Theatre, Hannover State Opera, Stuttgart State Opera, Bern Theatre, Basel Theatre and to the Semper Opera House. She has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Stuttgart State Opera since 2006. Here, she has performed as Donna Anna, Elettra, Salome, Marschallin, Alice and Maria Stuarda as well as others. She has performed the role of Kaiserin in Frau ohne Schatten with Leipzig Opera and Diemut in der Feuersnot and Christine from Intermezzo with the Bavarian Rundfunk in Munich. Current engagements include Elsa, Siglinde and Medea.
