Yonghoon Lee

YONGHOON LEE was born in South Korea and studied at both Seoul National University and at the Mannes College of Music in New York. He has won numerous competitions. Yonghoon Lee quickly built up an international reputation as one of the leading tenors of his generation. He sings at major opera houses, such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Opera Frankfurt, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Zurich Opera House and at the Semper Opera House Dresden. Most recently, he has sung Alvaro (La forza del destino) in Zurich, Don José (Carmen) at the Met, Calàf (Turandot), Manrico (Il trovatore) and the title role in Otello at the Opera Australia, Luigi (Il tabarro) at the Bavarian State Opera, Calàf at the New Yorker Met und at the Opera House Covent Garden, London, Samson (Samson et Dalila) at the Seattle Opera and Radames (Aida) and Manrico at the Liceu in Barcelona. Yonghoon Lee has performed Don Carlos (french version), Turiddu and Cavaradossi at the Vienna State Opera.
